A breakthrough in anti-aging science, L-carnosine is quickly becoming one of the most popular anti-aging supplements in the world today. L-carnosine is natural dipeptide (protein) consisting of two amino acids — beta-alanine and L-histidine. It is naturally present in all body cells but its concentration decreases with age. Carnosine is considered to be a longevity nutrient since studies have indicated that it can delay the onset of the aging process and promote cellular rejuvenation.

Glycation, a hallmark of diabetes, occurs during normal metabolism when sugar aldehydes react with proteins and result in the formation of abnormal proteins, which are thought to cause extensive damage to cells. Carnosine has been shown to block this reaction, protecting against the formation of abnormal proteins and effectively slowing down this aspect of the aging process.
