The product claims: Relieves diabetic neuropathy (pain and numbness caused by nerve damage); enhances fertility; preserves memory; stops aging. (Acetyl-L-carnitine is different from L-carnitine that athletes take to increase endurance.)

The research shows: Strongest research is for relief of diabetic neuropathy symptoms; some studies show pain relief and possible nerve regeneration. Inconclusive for effects on age-related memory loss.

How it works: Key to energy production by microchondria (cell fuel centers); also blocks cell-damaging oxidation.
